Little Island Hungry Sea, Mosman

Moving from static menus to digital using Samsung QM32C displays.

Little Island Hungry Sea in Mosman wanted to move away from printed menus and get something that could be updated quickly without reprinting anything. Two Samsung QM32C commercial displays, fitted into the ordering kiosk at counter height, right where customers are standing when they decide what to order.

Both screens run Samsung VXT natively. There is no separate media player involved. The software lives inside the panel itself.

At the counter, not above it

Both QM32C displays are mounted at eye height inside the kiosk structure. Customers see the menu when they are standing at the counter, not when they are walking past or craning up at something on the wall.

The 32-inch size is the right fit for this kind of install. Big enough to read clearly at close range, compact enough to sit neatly within the kiosk without taking over the counter space. The placement was intentional from the start. Menu boards that sit where people are already looking convert better than boards positioned for visibility from across the room.

The displays

The QM32C is a commercial display with Samsung VXT built directly into the panel. It is designed to run long hours, hold its brightness under the kind of mixed lighting you get in a café or food service counter, and operate reliably in a busy environment.

Because VXT is built in, there is no separate media player to mount, cable, or replace down the track. The install is cleaner and there is one less device to think about once everything is running.

The software

Both screens run Samsung VXT on two licences. Menu content is loaded into VXT and displayed at the point of sale.

When something on the menu changes, the team updates it in VXT and both screens pick it up immediately. There is no printing involved, no pulling down boards and swapping them out, and no delay between making the change and customers seeing it. A price update or a new item takes a few seconds to push through.

Because VXT runs natively on the display, the whole system is self-contained. No third-party platform, no additional hardware to maintain.

What is running now

The menu. Both screens, at the counter, showing customers what is available while they are ordering.

The Little Island Hungry Sea team manages the content themselves through VXT. For a venue where the menu is the main thing customers need to see before they order, having it at eye level and easy to update is exactly what the install needed to deliver.
